river's edge expansion

Client:

Saint Louis zoo

Location:

saint Louis, Missouri

Overview:

One-acre of undeveloped land in the center of River’s Edge zone is planned to become the home of three different animal species: Andean Bears, Sun Bears and African Wild Dogs. Habitats represent three geographic regions; South America, Africa and Asia.

This area was originally planned for only an Andean Bear Habitat.

With efficient planning and design, we master planned three exhibits with one holding and animal training support common for three species, affording the zoo the chance to add African Wild Dogs, a new animal to the zoo as part of this development. Populating the River’s Edge with three new species also surpassed the zoo’s goal of adding more animals.
